Empowerment & Health Conference for Women of Color

The Sister to Sister Empowerment and Health Conference has been an instrument at the forefront of a movement to empower women. We continue to incorporate a dynamic cadre of women who share their personal stories, and their blueprints for achieved success. With the growing diversity of our communities, we accept the clarion call to embrace all women, for an anonymous author once coined that “it is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change,” and Sister would like to be that response to change as we endeavor to meet the needs of the community.

‘She Does Matter’ Luncheon

Sister to Sister’s annual She Does Matter Luncheon benefits their education project to “educate to empower” underprivileged girls in Harlem and around the world.

Sister to Sister’s partnership with the Bushikori Christian Centre in Uganda, helps to educate girls who can no longer pursue an education due to financial constraints. Our commitment to educate girls aligns itself with our purpose to inspire, enlighten and empower girls in our community and beyond. Every year we sponsor eight girls in the amount of $2,800 to provide them with school supplies, lunch and clothing, etc.

Urban Sisters (US) Mentoring Program provides underprivileged children of the community with an opportunity to attend Camp Olmsted on Cornwall-On-Hudson, New York. The girls, aged from 6 to 14, receive a full scholarship for a two-week summer experience.
